Before I go, I thought I'd share a picture of a wonderful gift I got from my stepmother. She and my father are passionate gardners and, like myself, need a project. To keep her self occupied in the winter, my stepmother made the following quilt out of my old t-shirts, which she gave me as a birthday present. What a great way to preserve old memories!

Now off to the birthday bed for some much anticipated birthday sleep....

Wow, everyone, thanks so much for the kind wishes! It really was a wonderful surprise to wake up this morning to so much warmth and enthusiasm. Did you already know that I am a huge dog fan, Mala? And Gigalos, you little poem really cracked me up!

Speaking of which, can anyone guess which member of this thread, according to their website, was born June 24, 1930? Yes, our dear Walt Oleksy is about to turn 64.

I absolutely do agree, @Colly. I know for a fact that he's got a great recording setup in the batcave. Maybe, if we are lucky, @Steve Ozanich will post a recording or even drop by to serenade me during the Tuesday night discussion group. They say that in Georgia, birthdays go on for a full week, and perhaps @Eric "Herbie" Watson can convey honorary Georgian status on me.

Yeah, my stepmother is incredibly creative. She is a therapist, but her passion is gardening and sculpture. Another thing she worked on last winter was a project with a couple of art teachers at two local high schools. The students made pairs of animals to fit into a Noah's Ark theme and one student even made a miniature ark. Then they set it up in my stepmother's gardens and let the families check it out. Imagine the thrill to find that a local TV station covered it!
