Does anybody have a copy they would loan me and I’ll pay for shipping? I ordered it on amazon and it is saying it won’t arrive until April 21st due to virus delays (and not prime eligible). I’m in immense pain and I figured this was worth a shot.

If you have a copy of "Healing Back Pain" or "Unlearn your Pain" (Dr. Schubiner), they are the exact same concepts. The area of the body is irrelevant. I had full body CRPS at one point and I couldn't find anything in the literature at the time, but I still got better because it's all chronic pain stemming from the brain. Fibro is discussed in these 2 books as well as "The Mind BodyPrescription" so I honestly wouldn't get caught up in the title. Dr. Sarno alone is all you really need but I would add Dr. Schubiner as well.

    Hi Riffdex,

I agree with miffybunny, if you treat Fibromyalgia as TMS pain, then the other TMS books like Healing Back Pain and especially The Great Pain Deception by Ozanich would be enough.

That said, did you check The Book Depository? I got my order within a few days just a week ago...

The article on my blog about TMS and Fibromyalgia may also 'inspire' you (at least I hope it doesn't enrage you): https://www.painoutsidethebox.com/tms-blog/tms-and-fibromyalgia.
If there's anything you think I shouldn't be saying in this article, please let me know, as I know how sensitive fibromyalgia can be as a topic.

Well done for taking action by the way, it takes a lot for a fibro sufferer to start accepting the TMS method!

    Take care X

Well I’ve had and successfully cured my TMS in my wrist years ago by reading The Mindbody Prescription and later The Divided Mind. And I went years without pain or discomfort that I attribute to TMS. Then since November last year, I have been having problems all over my body I believe is classified as fibromyalgia. And since reading the books, it did not help this condition. I read a testimonial on the fibromyalgia page of this website where somebody said that they did not have success curing their fibromyalgia from reading a general TMS book, it wasn’t cured until they read the book Freedom from Fibromyalgia.

Yes but that is just one person's experience. I had full blown RSD (CRPS) and so have others which makes fibromyalgia look like a picnic and we got better. Trust me, the concepts are exactly the same. Do you have "Unlearn Your Pain" by Dr. Howard Schubiner? That one is great and he discusses fibromyalgia. Why do you think this particular book is any different? Just curious because at the end of the day, TMS is TMS...the body part or whole body and the types of symptoms are irrelevant. The TMS has you in its grip again because you are focusing on the physical and having doubts about fibromyalgia being somehow "different".

Okay fair point. No I don’t have Unlearn Your Pain. All I know is I have read The Mindbody Prescription and The Divided Mind since getting these symptoms and they did not help like my prior TMS was helped. I thought maybe this book has a way of explaining it that would sink into me better. I don’t feel like I’m focusing on physical - and I haven’t been diagnosed with fibromyalgia so it’s not a doctor’s advice/bias that is making me doubt that this can be solved with knowledge. I only focus on the term fibromyalgia because it seems that what I am experiencing right now is a TMS phenomenon that is often diagnosed as “fibromyalgia” and I thought someone else’s experience curing this particular manifestation of TMS might be what I need to make the progress. I’m going to wait for my book (which is still coming - it just will be a few weeks) and continue to read the books I have while I wait.

It's possible that this book will resonate for you more but all the books are the same concepts. I do think that "Unlearn Your Pain" is excellent. In my top 3.

Miffybunny is 100% correct. As I was recovering from CRPS (same diagnosis as miffybunny), my initial pain symptoms started fading away, but instead I developed fibromyalgia symptoms. I did not bother to go to the doctor with it, but it matched all the key symptoms of fibromyalgia. I kept going TMS route and after about 6 months fibromyalgia was all gone. I made a mistake of buying a book that claimed that you can heal from fibromyalgia in exactly 30 days by following stringent mindbody protocol. It was a total bust. Once you set a deadline, you become focused on the outcome, which you should never do. Don't know what the book you purchased recommends, but this is my #1 advice on how to deal with fibromyalgia. It is no picnic, I would never want to experience this dull pain in the entire body and also clusters of more pronounced pain in some areas again.
