I never had the expectation of being cured after a week, but the adjustments I've made have led to some small wins.
I'm not letting the pain bother me. It's still there, but now I'm not worrying about if it will get better or worse. I've also ditched the wrist strap I used to wear while working. It could be coincidental, but I've noticed the level of pain hasn't been as bad as it was the previous week.
I went to the gym a couple days ago and did a bunch of exercises that I've been avoiding for ages because they used to make the pain worse. This time I did my best to not even think about being impaired in any way, and it was fine.
I think the biggest piece of evidence that I'm missing that would convince me 100% on the TMS diagnosis is that I haven't had that moment of control over the pain that I've seen in a lot of the clips from Alan Gordon. Even if it was just for a minute, I think that would fully prove to me that this is something coming from my brain that I can change.

Other than that, I find the journaling difficult but I'm doing my best. Initially I was focused on trying to recall incidents and how they made me feel back THEN (and struggling), but it only occurred to me recently that just recalling those events was making me feel a certain way NOW and that's more important.

Massive progress in just a week! Some people take months (which is fine) to make the changes you've already made. And I don't think it's a coincidence at all. The fact that certain exercises used to make it worse, all you did was change your mindset, and then they were fine - that's massive evidence of TMS :)

Right, it does feel good and validating to do these things that I would have expected to have excruciating consequence actually not be so bad at all. That said, I'm still easing into it. I used to love doing box fit but had to give it up almost a year ago because it would always make pain worse. It's something I'm still too afraid to get back into it but that would be a nice goal to work towards.

You'll get there! It's ticking the boxes in a sense and eventually you'll get back to being fully uninhibited physically (as I and many others did) :)
