Finding a specialist who works like John Sarno

Hi guys, I know John Sarno is a legend but...

I am hoping to find someone for my stepfather who has an old broken hip injury with appliances. I am hoping to find a good pain diagnostician who can look at xrays, hear a history report about surgeries, give an evaluation to diagnose the pain source and even tell him about physical activity(How much to limit lifting for the hip appliance etc.) to determine how much is TMS and how much will just be life long.

Basically how do I find a pain diagnostician in the same category and potential competence as Dr. Sarno? Also Is it better to find someone in my physical area, over online, or even fly out?

There are some Dr’s who do this: here’s a list but it might not be up to date:

Here’s another list: https://ppdassociation.org/directory (Directory — Psychophysiologic Disorders Association)

You’d need a medical Dr. to help suss out the physical stuff. In person is best, of course. If that isn’t possible you can contact a few Doctor’s and ask what they think is best for an assessment: online or in person.

For what you are looking to do he's going to need to go in person to an orthopedic physician....and I don't think you are going to find too many that are open to TMS. But good luck, I hope you do.
