I don't even know where to start, I have so much to say! I have no problem whatsoever believing that my shoulder pain started in my mind. In fact, I also think that TMS training will help me with my anxiety, which is a much bigger problem than my shoulder pain, (however not as externally visible to those around me).

I feel like I have been telling people that I can't cope for years, but no one seemed to care, they just want me to keep working, even if it was killing me. And maybe it wasn't even real people, but the voice in my head.

I am so excited, and relieved, to finally find people who acknowledge that the mental discomfort is a big deal and a problem worth working on. Now I can finally get started on a path to recovery!

I am grateful for my shoulder pain, because it finally gave me an excuse to stop working, justifiably, in my social circles. Even the doctor backed me up!

But I was confused, because I thought when I stopped working the pain would go away. But it didn't.

Now I'm starting to think that it wasn't the work itself, it was the attitude with which I approach the work. All the emotional baggage I carry around all the time.

I have so many things I want to do in life, but I'm too scared to do. I hope this course will help me overcome the fear and free me up to follow all my dreams and live my life to it's fullest potential.

    Hi @PollyEsther! welcomea
A lot of us have anxiety issues. It can also be responsible for contributing a lot to TMS symptoms. There’s a short book that’s totally worth reading. It’s life-altering, actually. I read it over and over. It’s called Hope and Help for Your Nerves, by Claire Weekes.

It sounds like you have a great positive outlook for getting better. Keep it up!

I was able to get my TMS to go away a couple times by leaving difficult jobs. But this time around, it didn’t work. But, I have learned SO much and grown so much because of my TMS healing journey. Your life will be better than ever when you’re through.

Congrats on starting the Structured Educational Program. It will help you a lot.

I also wanted to say that I relate to you feeling your symptoms gave you the opportunity to be acceptable while slowing things down in your life. The exact same thing happened to me. And I’m learning that I need to defend myself, get what I need and not care what people think. Which is very hard!

Thank you for your reply! Reading your words is making me cry, in a way that feels so good. It is great to know I am not alone and that there is hope. I am so eager to learn how to take care of my inner needs and prioritize myself. I will definitely read the book you recommended! ♥️

You are not alone at all! There is so much support here. There are also tons of good resources, but you don’t have to learn them all at once. This all takes time. You’re on your way! ❤️
