Day 1 Finally starting to post

MJG

New Member
Hi, I have been on day one for almost a year. Actually have not wanted to start a post because then I have committed to doing this, and as at times, a perfectionist do not want to do something not right or well. Also, although I do not often admit it, worry about what other people will think...
The good news is the original back pain is gone, but is replaced by many other things. There is ongoing hip pain which has lessen. What caused me to write today, I am depressed ( and believe depression is a form of TMS) My TMS shows up in many different forms, all of which give me an excuse to not go out and live life.
A special thanks to all, for the recording, I listen to them when walking our dogs. Many of you are my new best friends, you just do not know me. I guess I'm a tms wiki stalker. :) thanks to all!!!

Hi MJG,
There is great value for you to role play in private the scenes from your past of great anguish. Let the person who hurt you the most know every last feeling from your heart. Hold nothing back.

i have had depression all my adult life. I have had such shame from having it. I thought I am an intelligent person. What is wrong with me. Why can't i get this figured out. Now I know I can specifically tie it to a thought related to failing to be perfect and seeing others dsappointment in me. Then I journal and within a period of time the the dark cloud lifts. it takes working the program and practice but you can do this too. You can do this for depression and all your other physical symptoms too.

MJG,

So glad you have taken the step to start posting and to join us on the Forum. TMS, depression, and all its other manifestations can be very isolating. I hope you will keep us posted on how you are doing.

welcomea

Hi Stella,
Thanks for your reply and sharing your personal experience with depression.
My initial thought regarding the role playing is it would be easier to continue disliking myself than dealing with any negative emotions towards people and events from the past, But will do it! soon
Am doing the journaling from the ISF program. (3days) This is the first time journaling maybe helping. The "dark cloud" is much better than Sunday.
Your reply/response/encouragement was greatly appreciated much more than you may imagine..Thank you
