I started reading Sarno's book 'Healing Back Pain' a couple of weeks ago, and although I have made some progress I decided to start this structured programme too. I was beginning to loose a little momentum rereading the book and thought it important that I carry on!
Since January 2009 I have had nerve pain in my legs and lower back. I was told that this was due to a bulging disc and wear and tear arthritis. Because I first felt the pain running I haven't ran or exercised vigorously since. However, when reading Sarno's book I deep-down know that this pain is due to TMS. I've always been quite an anxious person (especially in relation to health) and because of this, of course I saw every different 'back expert' under the sun. Even when undergoing various treatments I remember thinking 'how is this doing anything?'
I've also realised that over the last couple of years my supposed back and leg pain has dominated my ENTIRE life to the point of ridiculous!
Honestly, I still have a tiny niggling doubt that I cannot yet shift regarding 'What if I'm the one person whose pain is not down to TMS?' and I'd like this doubt to melt away. I'd love to get back to all the sport I used to play and love.
