    The notable change in my health began back in my late 20s, in 2013, with dizziness, fatigue, aching joints, muscle twitching, nausea, headaches. It was thought to be chronic lyme disease by a number of providers. When symptoms didn't resolve with various treatments, I discovered and leaned into the mind body theories/approaches. I saw some improvements, but now have clicking/shifting in my joints with somewhat of a resurgence of my other symptoms which lead to a diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). I can identify with many symptoms on the clinical diagnostic list, including brain fog and anxiety.

    I used to be hopeful about the mind body approach working for me, as I have a TMS personality, but I have been down about the fact that I've been regularly following and attempting to practice recommendations for several years now and actually see some of my issues worsening. The EDS diagnosis particularly brought me down because I don't see people speaking to recovery, more just management. Every day feels tiring and I have to really encourage myself to just keep going! I have read a post by a couple different people about overcoming EDS on this Wiki page, so I decided that the SEP would be a nice place to reset and experiment with a new approach. Looking forward to being a part of a community on these message boards rather than attempting to go at it alone.

    @gflo17,
    This forum is filled with great people. You’ll get lots of support. The SEP is a fantastic place to start. I’ve seen so many people make great progress with it.
    Sometimes it takes a while to get rid of TMS. But just because it takes time doesn’t mean you are failing to make progress. Don’t give up hope.
