I saw Dr. Schubiner today and it was fantastic. What a genuinely nice man.
Back pain flared during the 3 hour drive, but improved shortly after I got there. I had mild back pain (2 on a scale of 0 to 10) during the appointment. He said I am healthy and all the symptoms I mentioned are due to TMS. left feeling empowered and excited. I started my 3 hour drive home and the back pain got worse and then my head and upper teeth started hurting. I was at about a 7 at this point. I did not go into fear but was a little disappointed. After an hour I took kratom for the pain which normally helps. Got home 2 hours later still at about a 7. Took more kratom and went for a walk with my husband.
The pain is still about the same.
I assume this is an extinction burst?
Can the brain really "override" pain medication? If so, that is fascinating.
