Essential Tremor can be TMS?

i have been dealing with TMS for the past 16 years, back pain, knee pain, heart palpitation, migraine headaches, and more, and always manages to get over them with the books of Dr. Sarno (and hard hard work and focus!)

i started having hand tremors in the last few months, that eventually started to make it hard for me to eat with light utensils, or work on the mouse of the computer (wich is necessary for my job, so i got freaked ou by it) , i went to my family doctor who said it is essential tremor, that it gets worse with age, and he gave me betta blockers. i feel that my anxiety over this is making it worse...of course.

could this be TMS? i can't find essential tremor in the Dr. Sarno books i have...

Ellie, what happened with the tremor - if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks,
Jennie

I just saw this thread and wanted to clarify- acutal essential tremor is not thought to be TMS. It is a specific condition that is basically genetic. My husband has it (super mild at this point), his father and grandmother also had it, in one hand each. It is generally benign but can worsen with age, usually causes the most difficulty in the elderly. All that being said, any symptom *can* be TMS in theory, including a tremor. Clues to whether this specific situation is would be consistency of the tremor, if it has been with you for many years, if other family members have it, etc. A TMS doc or even a neurologist would certainly have more insight than a regular GP.

Claire Weekes has spoken about hand tremor, on YouTube there is a recording of less than two minutes. I'm not saying that essential tremor is TMS, just agreeing with MindbodyPT, that TMS can be mimicking almost anything.
