It has been almost two weeks since I listened to a podcast that I related to a lot and I was in a really tough place as all of april í had been in a bad flare started around the beginning of april and then was retriggered with a chiropractor adjustment mid april and I would say that it is still partially here but with the tms work I am doing I feel that just mentally knowing that the pain, numbness and tingling I am feeling is due to TMS and not a physical reason makes me less worried and less obsessive about it.

I am now on day 8 of the SEP and it’s going fine so far, I have not seen much improvement apart from what I mentioned earlier -> my symptoms are less severe as I don’t panic as much and don’t obsessively think about it.

Also now I have my hopes up that I will be able to start playing tennis and golf which are the sports I love and have given up, tennis for 2-3 years and golf mostly for about 2 years.

Those of you that have found the way out, how long did it take and what exactly did you do?

    Nope!

If you want to see the infinitely variable answers to your two very common questions, feel free to read the posts in our Success Stories subforum, which is a recommendation we often make for new members anyway.

The lesson is that there is no one answer to either of these questions, because even if you find somebody who's exactly like you in age, gender, upbringing, current circumstances, and physical, mental, and emotional characteristics, as well as exactly the same symptoms - - - your Journeys will still be completely different.

What we often say here is that the act of asking these questions (again, VERY common!) is actually a little trick by your TMS brain to distract you and to make you think that you can measure or set up expectations for recovery. Expectations are the road to disappointment, therefore we strongly advise against them. This is actually an old and famous adage, that expectations lead to disappointment. Or as somebody told me in the 1980s, "Expectations are the road to hell". He was only being a little melodramatic :hilarious:

Agree with Jan but I would also say that this is a massive amount of improvement very quickly - the fact that you said "I have not seen much improvement yet apart from" and then listed something that some people take months and months to achieve (you've not only been able to panic less, but it's had a clear impact on symptoms, which is unbelievably strong evidence of TMS), yet it's taken you 8 days of the program.. Is both amusing but also it should be very encouraging! Be patient and keep going :)

And I agree with Adam! I was fooled by your TMS brain's automatic negativity (the...have not seen much improvement yet... ", but Adam was not ;) You're doing good work, @Krissiey!
