Had a tough day today with new symptoms trying to materialize. The most disheartening thing a doctor told me was that my emg wasn't good even though he didn't seem competent at doing emg's . He also said that I could have vascularitis or CIDP even though these disorders don't seem to match my symptoms at all. He suggested that I could get a nerve biopsy and spinal tap that might show something but we wouldn't know for sure. My reflexes are great my manual muscle tests are 5/5 and my coordination is great. I just have numbness and a semi negative emg and all other tests were negative. I was going to go to another specialist but I'm going to put that off. I had back pain in the past and the doctors gave me a million diff. diagnoses and in the end it was tms. This doctor gave me some big what ifs that are hard to get over. This program is great but its a long road ahead but I feel that the good doctor is looking down at me and helping me. Take care all.

  2. Hang in there, man. It's not easy when medical experts are putting you in a world of doubt. In the end, if they don't know any better, it's up to you to take control of the situation. Standard medical science has failed so many people with back pain, and its solutions don't seem to be getting any better. More creative, sure, but not necessarily any better.

Take a look at Dr. Sarno's 12 daily reminders and keep repeating those to yourself throughout the day. I'm working through the program myself, and despite the pain and some big What ifs? (What if I reinjured my back? What if this time the pain is really physical? What if I won't be able to get up?), I am doing better. You just gotta accept the emotional aspect of the pain and work to get through it. We are here for you, man; we understand and we're here! Keep on keepin' on !
