Day 4- things your doctor says

The most disheartening thing my doctor told me was that I would have to live with Fibromyalgia for the rest of my life. I would need to limit my activity and even suggested monitoring my heart rate to make sure I don't tax my nervous system. All of this to avoid "flareups. This terrified me, I have been through a "flare up" and I NEVER want to go there again. I was taken OUT, couldn't drive, I couldn't think (which is my livelihood) I was toasted. That fear lived with me and if Im honest, its still there. Losing my independence is not acceptable. My doctor means well and is open minded but was not helpful... dont even get me started on insurance... Pharma comes out with the first medication for Fibromyalgia in 15 years and it targets what I think was my biggest issue(sleep), my doctor agreed, but insurance denied it and told me I needed to take the other medications first. What a world...... a for profit entity can tell a doctor how to practice, ridiculous. There was no hope. I was SO depressed and really struggled to accept the Fibro Dx, the loss of activity and independence.
Then I found out about TMS... my osteopath is very familiar with Dr. Sarnos work, he lent me the mindbody prescription and I found this site. This is a game changer for me. Yesterday was great,I continued with the self talk and instructions to my body. last night got a little tough as I got really mentally tired. I worked through bedtime anxiety. I slept great and again only woke once. I also just received the workbook that goes with the back pain book. I am all in, this is working for me and I am just so hopeful. Going bike shopping tomorrow!!
