Four years ago my husband and I were robbed on the street in Paris. Thankfully we were not hurt physically but it was a traumatic experience mentally. I never thought I would be able to forgive the three young men who attacked us. Writing a letter to them as part of this programme has helped me to gain perspective on the experience, one of the most stressful of my life. I realised that by holding on to my anger and feelings of grievance I was only hurting myself, not them. And so I've let go of those emotions. I ended my letter by saying I forgave them and that does make me feel rather proud. I don't think it's a co-incidence that my sciatica has gone and I haven't felt the need to take painkillers for back-pain for over two weeks.
