In my opinion, healing from TMS requires changing the way we are, meaning we need to change the thought patterns we use to deal with pain — basically, avoiding making pain the constant thought from the moment we wake up until we go to bed. We have to be willing to not focus on the pain even if that part of the body is burning, to allow the new neural circuits we have created over the years to reshape themselves and lead to a lower sensitivity. But it’s very complex, especially when the pain becomes strong and intense. For about 7 days now, I have had very severe pain in my lower back, which actually worsened right when I went on vacation. Today, I was so overwhelmed by the pain that I took an injection of diclofenac. I don’t feel defeated, but I have really tried during these 7 days to shift my brain, and I haven’t succeeded. It’s all very complicated…
