I just started Day 1 and I now accept that I have TMS. It started twenty years ago and has been a mix of pain, sensations and anxiety. In the past ten years I’ve become housebound, avoided doctors and suffered. I read the book “The Way Out” but couldn’t fully commit because I always felt like maybe there was something terrible that I overlooked. I was convinced that every pain was related to some dreadful disease waiting to be uncovered. Which is why I was afraid to see a doctor.
I do have some mechanical and hormonal things going on but nothing that explains the level of disability I’ve been experiencing. I finally started seeing a doctor and just had the fourth round of bloodwork which is all normal, including no autoimmune disease or deficiencies. I also have normal ekgs, a normal chest x-ray and a normal chest and abdominal CT scan. Without worrying I’m overlooking something, I’ve been able to complete the “Pain Recovery Program” by Alan Gordon and observe the sensations in my body. I realize all of it is a conditioned response and I’m looking forward to learning about what I’m suppressing or what has gone unprocessed and eventually experience full healing.
