Hello. My name is Grace. I am a 28 year old Software Engineer from Toronto Ontario. Around June of last year, I started to experience dull and aching wrist pain (RSI), mostly triggered by computer usage on my right hand (mouse hand). I went in and out of hospitals/doctors/physios and found nothing of note.

I did get a good amount of improvement from strengthening, but overall I can't get over a discomfort that arises to my wrist, then forearm, then elbow and sometimes my bicep when using my computer. I've done every ergonomic adjustment in the world.

It got pretty bad that I had to quit my job around September of last year. It was only until now I found another job, and I am starting in two weeks. I have worked at some very popular tech companies.

I feel like, I really am on board with the fact that there is no physical damage. But since I was a child, my brain has always played tricks on me (I remember constantly seeing things at night and having horrible nightmares) so I don't find it hard to believe it would create pain for me too.

I read The mind body prescription, along with the Way out and while it made sense I have not felt a huge reduction in symptoms yet.

I play a lot of computer games too, particularly league of legends which seems to aggravate my symptoms the most. Physically it is the most demanding, but when my symptoms first started, I was very heavily invested in this game. I try to play without fear, but I find the pain gets hard to manage around my second game (maybe 40 minutes in). I know structurally that does not make sense, as I have a high physical endurance and strength in my wrists.

    Thanks
