Hello,
I'm so happy to have discovered this forum today. I discovered Sarno's book two weeks ago and have experienced a great deal of improvement, but I'm having a set back right now and it's frustrating me. I know getting angry and pressuring myself about it is counter productive, but it's still hard to stop. I also don't feel that I've let go of my fears of a structural problem, which is tough for me to overcome.
Some background: I suffered from pain attributed to my si joint, piriformis, and/or nearby ligaments and tendons, for about 4.5 months before discovering Sarno's book. The presumed cause was a car accident in the spring, following the "structural vulnerabilities" associated with having had 2 pregnancies. Gradually got more and more disabled, to a point where I used crutches most days, a wheelchair a few times, and would lay on my back for hours each day. Went to PT, chiropractic, orthopedic doc, pain specialist, functional medicine doc... tried medications, injections, anti-inflammatory diet. Nothing helped until Sarno.
Just really hoping I'm not sliding backwards, and hoping I have the courage and emotional strength to overcome this!
