I developed coccyx pain/Coccydinia over four years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. This means I have moderate/severe pain in my tailbone when I sit for anything longer than 10 minutes or so. This causes a lot of discomfort when sitting for everyday things like watching tv/having meals/driving etc. I’m pretty sure it is TMS as the pain began during a time of great life change for me. (Pregnancy, new relationship, quitting my job of 15 years and leaving my home place to move to the other end of the country to be with my new partner). This was all positive change and has worked out very well (I am now married with two children) but the pain has not gone away despite numerous interventions (osteopathy, acupuncture, physiotherapy, special cushion, prescription pain-killers, steroid injections, nerve block injections). I have had temporary relief from the nerve blocks but the pain always comes back. It is now back but I have not booked another appointment for a nerve block as deep down I know it is not the solution, and will not solve this problem, which I believe is emotional/stress/tension/fear/anxiety related. I have read quite a bit about TMS over the past two years or so and I understand the concept but I still have pain. Given the time of year, I would like to leave this pain behind and re-discover life as a person who does not suffer from this problem of chronic pain
