My 4 year knee pain has me puzzled. How can it be that I often have tender black & blue around my knee with no trauma or hit to the area? I notice it a lot lately.

    Hi long time Marytabby

for a few years I was getting unexplained bruising on both of my calf for a couple years and it just stopped ..I had Dr A check it out and he said Tms from chronic stress

Interesting. Stress must mean no blood or oxygen getting to the knee causing blood vessels to burst (I guess). Thanks for the reply!

Just going to revive this because I had a MASSIVE bruise pop up on the inner side of my knee (actually opposite to where I have pain) once I started walking more to confront my TMS. I wasn't hit nor did I suffer any trauma to the area. It decided to appear on a very stressful day and as I increased my activity after a very long time. Activity literally being a slow walk. Could be symptom imperative.
Leaving a picture as well, maybe it will help someone else who's wondering if TMS can cause this.

Diagnosed by the doctors as a minor lateral meniscus tear and IT band syndrome btw. 2.5 years of pain, 10 different specialists, endless therapies to no avail. Severe psychological childhood traumas, supressed rage, type T personality, I am a textbook Dr Sarno's patient. Definitely TMS.
