I came to this site many years ago and had great success in eliminating back spasms. 2 years ago, I returned to deal with heart palpitations. Today, I bent over and felt a familiar pain in my back. I can barely walk. I know it's stress- I've taken on way too many responsibilities. I've filled a page of notes on my myriad issues. And even though I am aware of the 'why' of the pain, it has not abated.

Dr. Sarno points out that our pain isn’t caused by things we see and understand as much as it is our unrecognized (subconscious) mix of emotions, reactions and personality traits which create rage.
Instead of taking notes, perhaps try free write journaling to get a better insight into the deeper emotions and true thoughts about what is going on in your life. We tend to fall back into patterns without doing this regularly, instead of our usual wearing the mask of things we think are expectations (often of others), and taking time to truly care for ourselves - by doing things like slowing down, saying no, meditation, self-care, getting into nature, walks, perhaps a sport you loose yourself in, music, or the things you truly love to do without any self-pressure.
Drop your timelines for feeling better, get back to doing the psychological work, notice self-pressure and do things that restore the balance in the nervous system and move as much as possible.
This is temporary. Take care of you.
