Article on woman with fibromyalgia planning to swim English Channel

Ellen

Beloved Grand Eagle
This article in the Washington Post is a "mixed bag". On the one hand she has learned to push through her pain and not let it get in the way of realizing her dream to swim the English Channel. On the other hand she is not aware that she likely has TMS and there is a path to ending her pain. Reading articles like these makes me realize how important it is to get the word out about TMS.

I think her Channel swim is as much an ego trip to get attention as it is to heal her fibromyalgia.

Even if she knew about TMS she might not try it because it won't get her headlines or tv coverage.

I doubt the swim will help her fibro.

I may be being too hard on her, but I never have wanted to be media fodder.
I am one of the best kept literary secrets in the Chicago area. I don't seek publicity or attention.
