Almost gone but….

Hi, I wonder if I can run this by you all. I have had terrible TMS in the past and thankfully recovered. However, after a number of years it returned after I ‘hurt’ myself exercising. I had back and hip pain and it just would not go away- after 3 or 4 months and MRI scans I thought it must be TMS and went through the programme again and am making good progress. The thing I’ve noticed is if I do certain movements such as bouncing on my heels I feel the hip pain coming back or swinging my arms from side to side. This is part of my qi gong practice- I have decided to not do it for a few days and see if it changes but am wondering if it is just the TMS lingering around. I know it sounds trivial but I am a qi gong teacher so just wondering if I need to modify or plough through. Thank you.

This sounds like TMS to me. It often hits us where it can most gain our attention--things we really care about. So if you are a Qi Gong teacher then it makes sense that it is affecting your practice. I would keep doing your TMS recovery program and talk to your brain in whatever way works best for you to plough through.

Thank you so much - makes sense.

Second this - think psychologically and keep showing up for yourself emotionally, that's the most important thing. Your test is sound though, I would also say that if all is clear medically then is swinging your arms side to side (I assume with no extra weight) really that vigorous? That shouldn't be causing you pain without a clear identifiable problem in my view, so that's good TMS evidence :)
