Hi everyone,
I am experiencing new symptoms which are so obviously caused by psychological reasons that I want to share it with you.
A few days ago my new cat moved in with me. I have always been crazy about cats and when I was diagnosed with an allergy twenty years ago I simply refused to accept it -and it worked! I never had any symptoms.
Now I am the owner of a Maine Coon and that is a new experience for me. He is extremely cute but also sensitive and he needs a lot of attention. Two days ago he got sick because everything was new to him and it was just a lot for him to process being in a new home. He got diarrhea and I had had no idea what that means when your cat has long hair...He is better now, thank God
So I had to take a few days off work to look after him. It feels like sudden and unexpected motherhood. The structure of my day is changing to integrate his needs and they usually have to be adressed before my own.
This morning while brushing his fur my nose started running and I got trouble breathing which feels quite unsettling. I tried to stay calm and read the allergy chapter in Dr. Sarnos book. I am sure that this is my inner child being jealous of the cat. God, that sounds ridicolous ;-)
I am trying to ignore the symptoms. They will pass. I mean, they must pass because I have already lost my heart to this cat!
Any thoughts out there?
