As I look at Zinn's definition of healing it's the same conclusion I came to. Mine is when you've surrendered to what already is.
 
This reminds me of a story I heard about Byron Katie, author of Loving What Is. She was called in to assist a woman who was in the hospital with serious health problems. When she arrived in the hospital room she saw a women lying in bed with the blanket pulled up to her neck. Katie says "I don't see a problem." The woman very indignantly replied, "I'll show you the problem!", and she pulled the blanket down to reveal that one of her legs was extremely swollen and twice the size of the other leg. Katie says, "Oh, I get it. You think your legs should be the same size."
