Day 15 Absolute Proof that TMS is Real

Want absolute proof that TMS is real? Here it is:

The Stress:
My mother-in-law, who is in her nineties, lives with us. She has bad balance and has had some bad falls. In order to keep her from another bad fall, my wife or I sometimes sleep in her room on a mini-mattress on the floor that can hold only one person. My wife or I do that so we can help her to and from the bathroom in the middle of the night. She goes to the bathroom about every 2 hours in the middle of the night.

It is frustrating to take care of her at night. She has dementia and is hard of hearing. Besides frequently needing the bathroom, she does other things that make it hard to get any sleep in her room. In the middle of the night she may want to eat, have a back rub, or a pain pill, or help with the heating pad. She often is restless and moves her arms, legs and rolls around. She talks in her sleep and snores.

One recent night when I stayed in her room was especially frustrating. We have motion detector alarm devices on the floor to wake us up when she gets out of bed. That night I set up a second motion detector so I would be sure to wake up due to the noise they make. One problem was that the dogs were in the room and were setting off the motion detectors. And whenever I moved the motion detectors for a better location, they would go off. But the most frustrating thing was that my mother-in-law lay on the edge of the bed and keep moving the blanket that hung over the bed. Over and over again, that blanket motion kept setting off the motion detector alarms!

The TMS:
After the blanket movement caused the alarms to go off several times, I reached my maximum level of frustration. At that exact instant, I got a very painful muscle cramp in my leg. My leg had felt fine all day. There was no other explanation for the cramp: It was TMS. Mind-body reaction to stress. I normally never have leg cramps. A few times in the past I have had leg cramps at the exact moment of stressful thoughts. This cannot be a coincidence. I have no choice but to believe that this is absolute proof that TMS is real.

Sorry for the frustration, that sounds very difficult. But, glad you are able to identify the link with your leg so quickly!
