It can be helpful to know about problems with the new site, so if you notice one, please check this subforum and, if no one has reported it before, post your own thread. (Ideally, one thread per problem.)

For any given problem, we may or may not be able to fix it. I'm super eager to fix the things we can fix, but my goal is to give a very straightforward answer to anyone who posts, so at least they know the status.
 
Hi Forest. I'm not able to log out by just clicking once on 'log out'. When I click on it it glitches, it just hangs and even after waiting some time it doesn't log me out automatically. To log out I have to either click twice on 'log out' or click on 'log out' once and then close the tab. (This happens whether or not I've checked/ticked the 'stay logged in' box at log in.) Not a big deal to click twice or click once and close the tab, so I'm far from complaining! However, I thought I'd mention it as it's something I've encountered and I never had to double click to log out with the old version of the website, so I'm assuming it's not actually meant to be like that.
 
Thanks for reporting that, BloodMoon. I think I've figured it out, but I'll keep looking when I have more time.

We have an option turned on that, when you log off, tells your browser to clear all of your private data from its cache. This seems like a good idea because it prevents someone from clicking the back button and seeing your browsing history.

The downside is that clearing all of this history tends to take a long time. It takes a particularly long time in Safari (Chrome is much faster).

We could fix the logout delay by turning off the feature that clears all private data from the browser's cache. It's a configuration setting called enableClearSiteData If we turned it off:
Pro: the logout experience will be better in Safari
Con: people will have fewer privacy protections.

As we are in a unique position of providing a completely pseudonymous way of discussing TMS and related medical and mental health experiences, privacy is an important value of the forum. Therefore, unless further investigation reveals a different cause, I'm going to leave the feature on, choosing to protect privacy rather than convenience.
