    New Program Day 1: Introduction

I used this program LindenSwole and the SEP and read all of Dr Sarno's books (and more besides). So it definitely works. It works so well that I forgot about pain and TMS. This is just a relapse and a good opportunity to refresh myself and re-do this great program

    New Program Day 1: Introduction

I'm back to do the program again! I've been pain free for almost a year. I've decided to do a 10km race and yep it's back - TMS! It's the other knee and calf this time around. I stopped half way through my last two runs and limped home. I've been searching for knee pain causes and cures...

New Program Day 21: Paving Your Own Path

Thank you so much for this program Alan and to all the contributors. I'm running my first 8km/5 mile race today. I followed this program and I'm halfway through the SEP. I've read so much, written in my journal, practised meditation. I've worked through sciatica, knee pain, calf pain, hip pain...

Pain vanished - but replaced by constant colds

Me too! I've managed most physical pain - sciatica, knee pain, calf pain, hip pain by using TMS principles. But I do have a constant cough, runny nose etc. I don't treat these symptoms with any medication. However, I think I'll start treating it as TMS and see what happens. Looking forward to it :)

New Program Day 4: Breaking the Pain Cycle

This is the best day yet and it's only Day 4 ;) I can learn to run through the fear of "I'm damaging this" or "I'm hurting that". And even forget about "that was a tough run" or "that was my fastest run". My challenge is to run and enjoy it and not worry about the outcome :D

    Day 23 A breakthrough?

I've been working my way through the SEP slowly. I am sometimes reluctant to journal. I think 'Oh God, do I have to?' A common theme in my journalling is "It's not fair". Today, I uncovered that I believe that if I work hard and am honest and good, then I'll be rewarded and loved. I...

Signed up for my first 8km run and now TMS is back

Thanks honey bear. I spent a lot of today reading the forum and the wiki and searching for the posts you mentioned about fear of the pain or anxiety about whether I've injured myself or not. Afterwards I sat down (reluctantly) to write about some recent events where I felt shame or anxiety. And...

Signed up for my first 8km run and now TMS is back

Hi All, I thought i'd share an update on my training program. I have been journalling and noticing when I feel triggered. It's my birthday today and my work colleagues had a surprise cake for me yesterday. I felt very anxious being the focus of attention and I felt shame afterwards for the few...

Signed up for my first 8km run and now TMS is back

Oh I hadn't thought that I might be putting too much pressure on myself. That old perfectionist trait  I would like to do the run because it's a fun event but I will try not to become obsessed with it. Self care it is honey badger thanks.

Signed up for my first 8km run and now TMS is back

Hi Enrique, Thanks for that feedback. I have never been a runner but i am loving it. I started to run about 2 years ago and I got really bad sciatica and knee pain. Having done the rounds of physiotherapists and osteopaths and acupuncturists and MRIs, I found Dr. Sarno's books. I was so...

Signed up for my first 8km run and now TMS is back

Hi All, I'm working through the SEP which is challenging but good. I'm journalling every day and doing a lot of reading. I have been running for about 2 months now since my sciatica and knee pain were 'cured' by reading Dr Sarno's books (and other books since then). I've signed up for my first...
