    Faith healing?

Ive had an interesting thought recently. Can faith healings be explained as such; The emotional release during a faith healing brings the relief of someone's pain, not for any supernatural reason, but simply because the emotions brought out in the open are enough to at least temporarily relieve...

    Day 1 - TMS Newbie

I'm fairly new to all this myself, and I too see the connection to that 'conditioned response'. My issue was believing that my forward head posture was the cause of my frequent and sometimes constant headaches. But when I began to accept that my pain was not caused by any physical position, I...

    Could scar tissue be cause

Yes! It's just so easy to assume that what doctors tell us is true. Not always the case, but we love them anyway for what they can do.

    Could scar tissue be cause

Hi riverrat. Just a quick idea for you. Mindfulness, something I'm starting to learn about myself, might be a practice that could help you deal with everything that's going on as you heal. For me, it's generating an awareness of the emotions and feelings that trigger my symptoms. Maybe it can...

    Your questions, answered!

Great video. It's funny to me that just a few months ago, I would have watched a video like this and assumed you were selling snake oil. It can be really difficult to believe that the things doctors sometimes tell us can be so wrong. Now that I'm going through my own healing process I have a...

    Stress ball

You're exactly right. As long as I use it as a psychological tool then I'm making progress. I've begun to think about my cardio in the same way- it's nice to enjoy the physical relaxation of running, but more important for me is the positive effect that exercise has on my mind. Recently I've...

    How to handle your trigger...

That is so great! Don't let go of that success. You can do it.

Thanks. That seemed right to me too. Maybe I just needed to hear it from someone else.

    Stress ball

Ive been doing well learning to work through my TMS. Haven't had a headache and the body tension I've had for so long is much better. I'm using Dr Sarno's book and am working on mindfulness as well. One thing I've noticed, when I do begin to feel stressed or angry, squeezing a stress ball really...

    TMS therapist vs regular therapist

No doubt about that. You have to have that information first. However, as long as they accept all that I think they can still help with emotional struggles.

    Having hard time

Sorry you are in so much pain. I know that when I was at my worst, I felt the same way, and had a hard time seeing hope for my future. My hope for you is that healing comes quickly. Just be compassionate toward yourself, feel good that at the very least you know where the pain comes from, and...

    TMS therapist vs regular therapist

I only see a general therapist for counseling. However, he does agree that my pain was due to stressors in my life. I'd guess a general therapist/counselor would be fine for anyone with TMS unless they try to talk them out of the TMS diagnosis.

Just started the TMS Program- does the pain get worse before it gets better?

I do that too. It can be difficult to break that cycle. If you want some more ideas in breaking that fear cycle, read the Alan Gordon recovery plan if you haven't already. It helped me a lot!
