    The TMS has returned

As Dan Buglio advises, @jokeysmurf, send yourself messages of safety. I am trying to be cognizant of what I'm thinking when the pain returns and if there is any stressor arising, even ones we may not notice. I find that helps.

    At an impasse

" I was told if I ever even Jogged again, I risked paralysis...that was 25+ hard labor years, baseball seasons and 10000 sprints ago." "I turn 60 next month and I can still hump bags of concrete and dig holes all day." This is very impressive and inspiring, @Baseball65 ! So you just did it...

    At an impasse

Thank you all for your responses:) That was a good reminder, @Baseball65 regarding the Sarno books and the limits to how many times one can go to a doctor until it becomes in itself a manifestation of TMS, even if I'm trying to make sure there is nothing structural. The first day in SEP it...

    At an impasse

Thank you @Diana-M and @Rabscuttle ! I so appreciate your responses. They help me incredibly:) I have taken Dan Buglio's test and scored an almost "perfect" score, so I fit the TMS mindset very well. I have his book and have listened to his podcasts, which are encouraging. His book does...

    At an impasse

I haven't posted on here in a while because there is a part of me that says since I don't have anything to offer, such as responding to other threads with good advice I shouldn't be taking up time whining about my problems. No one has made me feel that way. All those who have responded to me...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

I'm doing Schubiner's workbook and being mindful today especially that symptoms can get worse or move around. I did my workout yesterday, had no problem, and came home feeling proud of myself and good. My right trap is fine today and the left is barking at me and going up my neck. All I did was...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

I have had a lot of anger in the last few weeks(my whole life actually), but about recent things. I have been getting new pains for the past few weeks in my trap muscles and arms which are pretty painful. The discomfort has been alternating back and forth and had been going away so for awhile...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

Today will be a challenge to focus on the psychological. I was doing really well with it the past two weeks, but yesterday I did planks with walkouts. Nothing hurt, but later when I was focusing on stressful things with my therapist and financial issues, my right trap started to hurt. This...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

I have been listening to Dan Buglio on youtube and he brought up something interesting that one of his success stories said. She said that she realized it wasn't the pain it was the fear she had to address. Once she dealt with that the pain dissipated. This has me focusing on fear, as well as...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

@JanAtheCPA has inspired me to write a post without mentioning a body part. This is actually a challenge for me because I have been brought up with this belief to keep some things "secret." Also, I'm such a "goodist" I think I'll be bothering people by "trauma dumping. " Anyway, my TMS...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

Thank you, @JanAtheCPA. This morning I wrote all about my repressed anger and childhood incidents to help me focus on that and not body parts. I got much better at that when it comes to my back, neck and abdomen pains. My knee is a little scarier because I fear being trapped and not able to...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

Does this sound like TMS? Sorry in advance for the long story. Last May i bought new sneakers from a store in which they pick ones after having a machine check your feet and gait so that they are right for you. This one particular salesman helped me, and it wasn't long after when I started...

New here and trying to escape pain, obsession and despair

I'm making progress, but TMS likes to give me another test after I pass the previous test. So my IT band, which is always tight, was worse yesterday. I don't freak out about except when I feel it in my knee. That definitely triggers catastrophic thoughts. My goal today is to stick to telling...
