Acid Reflux, Shortness of Breath, TMS

I've come to this same conclusion myself lately. Limerence is just another form of TMS. It's the same obsessive and maladaptive coping mechanism, except the object of one's obsession is a person rather than an "injury" or "illness," and the "pain" is longing and pining.

PN Pain Turning to UTI Symptoms? Help!

I had pain resembling a UTI infection for the past 4 months. Was checked by gen doc and obgyn -- cleared from both. Mine was TMS most definitely. Felt like I had a bladder infection that just wouldn't go away. Also had burning and stinging in genital region. I am mostly pain free now after...

Update: I am sitting all the time with no reservations and no pain! :) For months, I was unable to be in a car for longer than 20 mins, but this past weekend we drove over an hour to a friend's birthday party. Feels great to have conquered the fear of sitting! I have had great results with...

    Conditioned Symptoms - Triggers

Update: I'm not really timing my sitting anymore. I am sitting a lot! With no pain at all. I still seem to be conditioned toward comfy chairs, but this is still progress, as I would not sit for longer than 10 min before, and the other day I went and got my hair done and sat for over 40 min...

    Positive Recovery Goal for Today

So, I thought it might be helpful to have a thread where any of us newbies can post a goal for the day to work on for our recoveries. It can be small or big. Examples - exercise, working on conditioned responses, meditation, affirmations, thinking psychological, reading something helpful...

What do YOU Say to your Brain??

Yes, being kind to oneself is important, I think. I beat myself up automatically, so that is something I am trying to stop. I also agree with faking confidence. Fake it til you make it! :D

    rectum pain

Blood = Doctor visit, IMO. Just to make sure it's nothing structural.

    Day 3 Other pains

Oh yeah, totally normal from my experience to have the pain migrate from one spot to another. It seems like once I lose the fear of the pain in one place, it packs its bags and moves to another. I just tell myself it's a good thing and the pain is "on the run" because my fear of it is less.

    Conditioned Symptoms - Triggers

Eric, yeah I'm very similar - stationary and idle in any position that gives me too much time in my head can trigger it for me. Give me an activity and I'm doing better.

What do YOU Say to your Brain??

I've been using the Fake News! Although, during certain moments I simply try to accept things exactly as they are, without trying to change them, and I suppose that is mindfulness?

    Anxiety

I can relate to the catastrophizing. Have you ever tried meditation? I've been practicing 2-3 times a day for about a month now and I have noticed a HUGE difference in my phobic/catastrophising reactions. Also, when I get in that mental space, I do a 15 min meditation and get pretty much...
