An old timer looking for support with a flareup

Thank you for the response, and the redirection toward anger. And the idea of going deeper into the fertility stuff, beyond the treatment and into everything about having children. Happy holidays!

An old timer looking for support with a flareup

Hi all, I used to frequent this forum 5 years ago and found it incredibly helpful - probably the number one factor in my recovery from TMS (presented as lower back pain). I've been dealing with upper back and neck pain for the first time in my life, and I realized yesterday that there's a huge...

Really need help to find a book

Hi BloodMoon, good to chat with you again after a year or two! I didn't do the visualizations for more than maybe a week. I found that for me personally, it was hard to do the visualizations without wanting to make the pain go away, or trying to "turn off" the pain centers in my brain. I...

    Rapid Oscillation Between Symptoms

I agree with Jan, this is great! Hold on to your belief that this is TMS - believe it now more strongly than ever.

Really need help to find a book

I read the book. It was decent, but none of it stayed around as I healed. When I have flare-ups and review the material that helped me heal, none of it comes from this book.

    DARE method success?

Hey there, have you listened to Claire Weekes audio here? (See my signature) DARE is based on her work, and I find the original more moving :)

Chronic pain for 9 years.. willing to give away my life savings for help

Sammy you are in the right place brother. Check what Andy and healing said.

    Symptom Imperative struggles

Hi Lauren, I think what Baseball said is great. When I get an occasional new symptom in a newly stressful situation, I say to it, "Bring it on, I know this is just TMS." I find that attitude helpful since it raises my confidence and makes the situation feel more like a good old fashioned...

    Need some reassurance and guidance

I second Andy. I was there too. I see a lot of myself in your post, as I was off of work for about six months, really afraid of injuring myself further. I always recommend Claire Weekes books and audio files. More than any other resource, she helped me confront the fear on a daily basis. She...

    One more pain story

And, the most important thing of all... Believe 100% that your symptoms are driven by emotional and psychological factors (i.e., TMS). Do whatever you need to to strengthen this belief. As you have more successes, your belief in TMS will strengthen further, and you'll have more successes...

    Fear and oxygen deprivation

Spine stabilization is a bogus idea. Go look up Peter O'Sullivan on YouTube on it:

    One more pain story

Follow the advice in HBP, do the Structured Education Program, check out Dr Hanscom on writing/journaling. Read ACE1s tips on this form, the complete post not the summarized one, and then practice them with discipline (like you would with martial arts). If you want a new mattress, go for it...

    Nauseous with 1st treatment

It's really common for new symptoms to arrive when you get on the right path.

1 year ago today, my life went to hell.

I'll spare you the list of symptoms - you've heard them all before! Suffice it to say that I was in so much pain and, more importantly, so obsessed with the symptoms that at 29 years old I stopped working and went onto disability. I went down the rabbit hole of a faulty recovery program, and...
