    Hi all,

I have been reading about TMS for around 7 months, have been journaling (Nicole Sachs) for 2 months.

The recovery has been up and down, I recently had 3 evenings where the pain was literally gone.

Today the pain is as worse as it was at the beginning. So I now start SEP.

I do accept the TMS diagnosis and have no interest in seeking a physical cause.

My hope is to have a spring in my step!

Reading inspiring posts really does help. We are all on this journey together.

Hi @LJD75 ! Happy to hear you have started the SEP. It really helped me within the first few days to very clearly outline what life without TMS would look like (as in the exercise for the day). This has provided a good reminder for me of my "why" I am so intent on moving through this.
Looking forward to seeing your updates. I'm sure you will find that everyone on the forums is incredibly supportive and helpful. Indeed we are all on this journey together!
Wishing you all the best as you continue forward!

Welcome! Sounds like you’re doing great already. You know what TMSers always say: “recovery is not linear.”So don’t be surprised it’s jumping around and coming and going. That’s normal. You got this!

It's ironic but the perfectionist in me wants to show people I'm chronically pain free and have a success story.....which is an added stress.....this needs unlocking in the process!

Yup. Even though I said I didn't put a timeline on my healing I did in my head. Then I stressed cause I wasn't healing. I looked at my life and have had TMS over 3/4 of my life. That's when I realized I was not going to heal in a month or two. This is going to take some time to get rid of old coping mechanisms and learn new healthy habits. And it's going to take time for my nervous system to relax and not be on high alert. It's definitely a journey.
