    Hi everyone,

I still have a lot of TMS symptoms and feel as much dscouragement as the next person, but I thought I'd make a list today of those I've conquered (or seen major progress on) so far so as to encourage others. Don't discount the progress you are making just because you still have pain/other symptoms or the symptom imperative or extinction burst is raging!

    1. Ear fullness
    2. Sinus pain
    3. Dry eye (mostly)
    4. Foot pain (random)
    5. Base of skull/neck/upper back pain (75% better!)
    6. Many hours per day of very blurred vision (now more often clear than blurry!)
    7. Anxiety (not fully conquered, but probably 30-40% better!)
    8. Insomnia (not fully conquered, but I've gotten to where I don't care nearly as much -- it doesn't frighten me as much or as often as it used to!)
    9. Sensitivity to clothing (reducing -- I can wear more things comfortably)

Oh, and I've been working on this for about 5 months.

Also, I was interested to learn today that when the body is stressed, the kidneys produce more urine. Hence the trouble so many of us have with having to get up a million times at night to use the restroom. It's just stress, friends -- just TMS!

    Hang in there!

    Dixie

Thanks, Jan! Yeah, I'm getting slammed every other day but I'm generally doing better even when being slammed. I'm believing in it being TMS more and more. And recognizing that more things are TMS. This morning I woke up with full-body pain from tension (common for me) and was able to recognize that the muscles around my eyes were already tense and painful in the night. In other words, that symptom is from body/stress tension, NOT something wrong with my eyesight. Good for the evidence sheet!
This morning all the thoughts: "Is it my shoes? Is it because I used the computer too much? Is it because I went on a walk yesterday? Do I need muscle relaxants? Or to stop all activity?" and realizing "No, it's TMS tension and the only way to relieve it is to let go of the worry and effort and relax over time."

Good work Diane, for those also reading this thread i will share what ive managed to get rid off in 17 months of this work...

    1. Insomnia - Sleep like a baby most nights
    2. Aside from my last two main areas i no longer wake up with full body stiffness, it was in every body part (just left in my hands and feet)
    3. I had every anxiety symptom in the book (blurry vision, needing to pee a lot, dizziness, heart palpatations).
    4. Cold and sometimes wrinkly hands and feet
    5. Digestion drastically improved
    6. Hiatal Hernia, only had 2cm diagnosed on a endoscopy but its not spasmed and popped out upon bending over in at least a year (assuming due to my diapraghm muscles loosening up).

Im sure there is others but those are the ones that come to mind.

Im just left with muscle contractions in my hands and feet which is probably the most annoying of the lot, feet feel like theyve got a vice clamping on them pushing the toes inward when i walk as i cant fully bend the whole foot or toes which causes me a bit of instability. Hands still cant bend the fingers but both are drastically improved. For example there was no way i could walk without any slippers on any hard type of floor as it felt like i was walking on rocks, i can now walk on hard floors and even outside in bare feet but the flexibility still isnt there.

I have my days where these last parts still get me down but i know one day its eventually going to go, who knows i might wake up tomorrow and the muscles might just suddenly release (like Diana had) or it may be a slow burn and take another year (god i hope not)

    @Fal
You’re doing good! Try to be happy on the journey. Laugh in its face. We will be advanced souls when this is all over. And we will know true happiness. :)

I have been thinking about Samuel Eddy (I sometimes have linked to his anxiety videos here), who says that happiness returns long before complete recovery. "I got a lot happier well before I recovered," he says. Those bright moments are a good sign, even if there's unhappiness, too!
