You know how y'all are always asking for advice on exactly what to do, from people who have recovered? It's not always easy to provide that advice in a coherent manner, and some of us never get around to it (partly because what we did is a mish-mash, perhaps too long ago, and, you know, also still a work in progress). But I have to recommend this thread over in the General subforum, posted by @mrefreddyg. It's a terrific distillation of what worked for him, and it's not even that long. Or, rather, reading the post won't take long. If you pay attention to what he's saying, you'll realize it's going to take plenty of time and plenty of work.

With that in mind, I offer this warning: do NOT give in to the temptation to ask @mrefreddyg how long it took him. First of all, it's the wrong question. Second, it is not really a question that should be answered. For all I know the answer is revealed in his other posts, which is fine, because it's a great idea to read his other posts for more in-depth insights anyway (go to anyone's profile to see a list of their posts and/or original threads). But it's important to understand that doing this work according to someone else's timeline is pretty much guaranteed to set you up for failure, because it's perfect fuel for the TMS brain mechanism! Just don't do it.
