I’m just beginning my TMS treatment journey. I’ve been to several drs and recently my Neurosurgeon told me that my spinal cord stimulator had failed me and that I had a functional nerve issue, as opposed to anything structural. I’ve already been in the process of waiting to see another neurosurgeon for a second opinion. I don’t anticipate getting results from that neurosurgeon for many months.
My PCP recommended that I read, “Healing your back: the mind body connection.” I identified with so many things in the book. And truly wished that someone had recommended this to me before! I am in a “Season of Yes,” and am open to exploring all possibilities. I could definitely envision this being the answer for me and am growing more accepting of this self-diagnosed TMS condition. I believe it fits. There’s comfort in recognizing that this pain isn’t permanent, which is one of my greatest fears. I pray that the next 30-days will bring some relief and understanding. I recognize that healing isn’t always linear and it can often require great patience. I’m hopeful.

That's a pretty awesome PCP, @HNKHIKERS - it gives me hope that we're heading in the right direction, slowly, but hopefully surely. Welcome to the forum and the SEP - both you and what I think might be your sweet hiking buddy :)
