Effect of food on physical issues - placebo?

We may have to agree to disagree on this one. While diet of course plays an important role in your health, I can certainly think of people I know who eat 'very healthy' and suffer from a range of complaints and at the other end of the scale, a friend of the family comes to mind, a lady who...

Effect of food on physical issues - placebo?

If diets cured chronic pain (and other conditions), this wiki wouldn't exist. And neither you, nor I, would be here - it would be simple. Have arthritis? Eat XYZ. Have fibro? Avoid ABC. If diet is the cause and cure, then why does the same diet cure one person and have no effect on another...

Non celiac gluten sensitivity | Fear of Food

This is so true. I have two friends, both have 'real celiacs' (i.e. they had the tests for Celiac disease, they are not just 'sensitive') who didn't start having issues until, one in his 20's ad the other in her mid 30's. So they ate gluten very happily their whole lives and what, their genes...

    Pelvic pain

I would highly recommend reading The Mindbody Prescription and going from there. Also, The Great Pain Deception by Steve Ozanich. Those two books tell you everything you need to know about TMS. I remember there was another question about a hysterectomy on here recently and SteveO himself...

Pudendal pain but MRI findings. Is this still TMS?

I've done some research and many doctors, including the Mayo Clinic, say that Pelvic Congestion is a bogus diagnosis in many cases because congestion is very common and frequently seen in people with no pain. Often 'curing' it had no effect on pain. Ezer on this forum (who recovered from PN)...

    Have you had a hysterectomy?

I'm curious how many women on this forum have had a hysterectomy? And if I can be nosey, for what reason? And were you happy with that decision? I have pelvic pain and now also prolonged bleeding (not heavy but goes for a couple of weeks with only a week in between), thought to be two...

    Pelvic pain

Do you have a history of the other illnesses Dr. Sarno describes as common to those with TMS? e.g. back pain, allergies, headaches, UTIs, random other pains e.g. RSI or IBS? What is your personality type? If you fit the profile and have such a history (as detailed in books like The Mindbody...

Pudendal pain but MRI findings. Is this still TMS?

I stopped pelvic floor therapy because Dr. Sarno is pretty clear about it focussing on the body and he even talks specifically about trigger points. I know what you mean about the sudden increase of pain though and doing anything for relief. That has happened to me a few times now and you can...

Pudendal pain but MRI findings. Is this still TMS?

Thank you for your kind reply. I tell myself that but I just wish I could make a dent in the pain to gain some confidence and relief.

    Dr Sarno books

The Mindbody Prescription would be ideal for you. All of those symptoms fall under TMS. Good luck :) P.S. I also like the audio version of Healing Backpain because it's read by Dr. Sarno himself (although Mindbody P is later in his career when he was beginning to realise just how much was TMS.)

Possibly not genuine:My Rheumatoid Arthritis is completely cleared up.

Hi @Tennis Tom The issue here is that they seem to be manufacturing multiple success stories to drum up business. Yes, it's a TMS method but these stories are pretty obviously all written by one person which is pretty dodgy and dishonest (one person with several profiles and changing symptoms...

Possibly not genuine:My Rheumatoid Arthritis is completely cleared up.

Hi @JanAtheCPA , Thank you for all the work you do moderating this forum :) Glad to see a brave person reported these posts. I'm just being nosey here, but I'm curious if the Pain-Cure Clinic was contacted for their response to these pretty suspect postings and if they had a response? I think...

Pudendal pain but MRI findings. Is this still TMS?

Hello, I've had pudendal/pelvic floor pain for several years. No incident to start it, just random. (Further complicated by some menstrual irregularities but everything on that front has been ruled out it's just persistent and upsetting.) I had been staying away from doctors but after a big...
