Yawning

Ines

Well known member
I've been noticing that when I'm in a situation I don't want to be in I begin to yawn a lot. I don't yawn because I'm tired. Does anyone else do this? I'm thinking it's a mind-body thing.

For me, I think yawns could be a little of both tired and involuntary mindbody tics. Itching swarms, where at first it is skin somewhere on the face, or back of neck, then the ankle, etc...all TMS. Involuntary bodily actions I see them all as TMS.

Yes, I always have one itchy spot on my back. That same spot is where my back cramps every time I go for a walk. Not when I'm exercising. Only when I walk. It's really weird.

Yawning is a parasympathetic thing which is a mindbody thing so yes, you're absolutely right. Interestingly it often signals empathy. Have you noticed how when one person yawns others do too? And when people start yawning, dogs also yawn. They are so tuned into us! I think its adorable.

And let's be honest, we also yawn when we are bored (tired of being in a situation we don't want to be in). My partner does these epic dog yawns when people are blabbing on. It's a wonderfully natural response that is probably socially rude yet authentically, refreshingly honest at the same time. It cracks me up and I've found ways of diffusing the insult but usually people take the hint and wind it up.
