    Hi all,

I'm not the sort to post on sites such as this. I'm hardly present on social media. But I'm going to follow all of the instructions for the next 40 days and see what happens.

I fell several times while learning to ski in January of this year. By February, I was having some sciatic pain in my left foot and lower back, though I didn't know that's what it was. Eventually I went to the orthopedist, who prescribed physical therapy. Physical therapy did and does help. But I ended up having this incredible flare that put me in a place worse than anything I'd experienced yet. I'm lucky in that my orthopedist is non-surgical and my PT has a "pain is a mystery" attitude. I've not had an MRI, just an x-ray to make sure nothing was broken (nothing was).

I'm a bit stuck on the full belief of the TMS possibility b/c I also have several fibroids in my uterus and one of these is slightly compressing my external iliac vein. My brain is convinced that all of the problems arise from this compression. Couple this with the need to have a uterine biopsy b/c of some most likely totally normal findings on my pap smear, and my brain keeps suggesting that I have metastasized cancer--even though there was no evidence on the MRI of my uterus.

Anyhow, I'm going to have the diagnostic test to rule out cancer, and I also feel certain that my problems are TMS and the stuff with my uterus is just a set of coincidences.

    Here we go!

Welcome to the forum and the SEP, @bigtree2025!
Nah, don't worry about this - most of us understand that the "100% belief" requirement turned out to be overblown, if not narrow-minded. An open mind is far more important for getting started, along with a healthy amount of curiosity.

Full belief comes with knowledge and new experiences - and even then, your primitive TMS brain mechanism will try to sow doubt every day. That's its job. Yours is to learn how to turn the doubt around, and this is the place to do it! :D
