So I'm freaking out because Parkinson's runs in my family apparently.

Anyway, I actually did a little exercise and later that day my thumb started twitching. Ok no problem.

EXCEPT A WEEK LATER IT HASN'T STOPPED.

I've had twitching muscles in the past, they go away shortly.

Do you know the explanation for why this one hasn't?

I was trying to explain TMS today to a co-worker.
One of the things people misunderstand about conditioning is , it does't take a long time...in fact it can happen after one or two incidents...all it takes is our brain to say "This" goes with 'That' and blam! New conditioning.

Obviously Parkinsons is serious...so are a lot of the implied 'conditions' behind many symptoms that turn out to be TMS. The most important thing is 'What was going on with YOU when they symptoms started?"

I have had Muscular Treppe (what that condition is usually called)...it has usually come when I have been exhausted....but if it gets my attention? It might stick around until I figure out why I need a distraction

Nearly 3 weeks later and it's still happening.

I think it might be exercise related. I had started a new exercise called Snake Turns Over which is a kung fu dynamic tension exercise.

I had done only one rep on each side, about 20 seconds of tension total, and then it started. Part of the exercise is squeezing your fist tightly. The exercise is done for many many reps, so one is little.

At any rate, I was getting angry at myself (TMS) for not doing the exercise right and making myself start over numerous times. Meaning like, wait a day and then start over. Wait two days and then start over. Etc. To be honest, it's quite OCD style of thinking. Because I am a perfectionist and if I do not do something properly I punish myself (wait and start over). This all sounds like TMS thinking.

Anyway, maybe my thoughts associated doing this exercise with making mistakes, and on some level I didn't feel like I deserve to make progress so it decided to cause a twitch to make me focus on something (and stop the exercise).

OR, maybe the hand and shoulder twisting and rotating caused carpal tunnel. Which I know people here say is TMS, but like tendonitis, I strongly disagree that it is TMS. Caused by TMS? Yes, absolutely (nearly every time I've experienced tendonitis, as in, actual tendonitis that requires concentration and months to recover, I was mad at myself while doing something). But tendonitis is TMS? Disagree. Anyway, I was thinking carpal tunnel because I have twitching and a weird electricity feeling in the thumb and index finger. Anyway, usually when I get injured (tendonitis), I am mad at myself while exercising or doing something physical, quite often it's something I'm making myself do again (because I did it wrong the first time). I actually on some level think that my thoughts think I should be injured and then I get hurt. Or my body hurts me because I get mad at myself (for doing a thing wrong).
