I have had chronic pain for over a decade and it has taken everything from me.
I find that my pain always gets triggered by physical movement and the emotions that actually cause it are deep in the background. I can think of things that were stressing me out when the pain came on but they seem arbitrary.
It got to the point where I was admitted to hospital because the pain had spread to my jaw making it hard to eat. They started me on physio to get me walking again and on the third session I walked about 30 feet. Even though I was very stressed in that moment, the pain quickly wore off. I guess I felt safe because I was being cared for in the hospital?
After I got out though the fear came back. My progress was slower and I started having setbacks until one day at physio the therapist kept pushing me to go harder and the pain came back so hard I haven't walked since.
How do I move forward from this? I'm trying tms therapy again but it seems like I have to stay in a hospital to feel safe again. Because I still have the same problem that progress is too slow and setbacks too severe.
