Welp TMS is back with a vengeance after my wedding day. Leaving today for our honeymoon in Italy.

I have a hemorrhoid and had the worst acid reflux attack of my life last night. All you can do is laugh lol.

I'm sure all the stress, anxiety, constant social interactions, alcohol, and sleep deprivation is catching up to me. And now I'm going on a 9 hour flight to Italy.

My wife is also dealing with her TMS symptom of neck pain and had to get a heating pad this morning lol

Anyways, I know what's going on, but as always I could use some support from you guys. And I'm sure a day or two from now I'll be laughing about this enjoying an espresso in Rome.

    Congratulations! beerbuds

Don’t worry. You got this! You will be laughing in Rome. TMS especially likes to act up before trips, but the payoff is really high. Usually it goes way down when you get on the trip. I think it’s because you kick its butt. lol Have fun!

Vacation is a major trigger for symptoms, and a honeymoon is a vacation on steroids! Makes sense you're flaring up. Remember the basics (recite Sarno's 12 reminders), and make a point of relaxing and making light of it all. Lots of great food to look forward to in Italy!

I got Chat GPT to rewrite the reminders for me about acid reflux lol

12 Reminders for Healing Acid Reflux (TMS Perspective)

    1. My acid reflux is a result of TMS—a mind-body condition—not a permanent physical defect.

    2. The burning and discomfort are caused by nerve and muscle tension, not excess acid or damage.

    3. This condition is harmless and is rooted in emotional tension, not a digestive disorder.

    4. The underlying cause is repressed emotions, especially stress, anxiety, and anger.

    5. These symptoms are my brain’s way of distracting me from uncomfortable feelings.

    6. My digestive system is fundamentally healthy—there is nothing to fear.

    7. Eating is not dangerous, and I don’t need to restrict myself out of fear.

    8. I can resume normal eating habits and physical activity without fear.

    9. I will not be intimidated by the discomfort—it’s a message, not a threat.

    10. I will shift my focus away from symptoms and toward exploring my emotions.

    11. I am in control—not my subconscious mind or fear.

    12. I must think psychologically, not physically.
