I'm feel pretty sure it's TMS, but just want to ask you all. Especially because when I looked at the wiki, people talked about being asymptomatic and having test results. But I do have pain and tingling.

I asked my doc if there's a test just to be sure it's not something deadly. She sent me for an MRI.

Then, she sent me a note saying I should see a neurosurgeon. But it not being deadly, I'm intending to treat it as TMS.

I've healed from a lot of TMS symptoms, and this is likely just the symptom imperative.

Still, every time, I go through stages with TMS symptoms - anxiety and doubt. So I sometimes write here to get your thoughts (yeah, wanting reassurance, which I know is not optimal.)

But eventually, I get there and stop focusing on it.

So if you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Why did you get an MRI?
Those are expensive. They take a lot of planning and thought. If it is TMS and you believe in TMS they are useless...unless of course you think you have cancer or a tumor I suppose.
The last one I had was forced on me for spleen/gall bladder issues.
The Doctor noticed I had a Broken back vertebrae that had healed sometime before. He gave me the info unsolicited.

I did fall off a House about 5 years previous, during which my thumb was severed, but when I had them re-attach it No one MRI'd me...I imagine that was when I broke my Vertebrae. I never had any back pain during that period....so once again.

If you believe in TMS why are you getting MRI's?

BTW...to be honest I didn't read any of the diagnosis. The fact that you're fixated on it probably means you are walking around blinded to a TON of suppressed anger.

TMS BACKGROUND
I'm now 70 and have had amazing TMS healing over the past few years (and have written in this wiki in a panic about my fears of them pvrior to the healing!). For instance, right hip incredibly severe pain for nearly a year. Was told bone on bone and I won't have quality of life if I don't get my hip replaced.

I didn't get the hip replacement and now, my hip barely bothers me and I'm in nearing the end of a tai chi study that has helped so much. And the most amazing of all, was the healing I had in November of 24 with my severe food sensitivities and now I can eat nearly anything I want! I say nearly because there are still a few foods I'm not successful with yet.

But my whole life has changed using all that I've learned about TMS since 2017 and especially October/November of 24 when I learned the "bring it on" method someone taught me who suffered even worse with food sensitivities than I did and healed from TMS.

NECK PAIN

I've had tingling and itching in my left shoulder blade for many years and over the past six months, the left side of my neck started really tingling, then hurting and pain referred down my shoulder and back into the shoulder blade.

But it comes and goes.

I remembered that we always check it out so we can stop focusing on it, I talked to my doctor and she said it's probably just arthritis. So I asked for the MRI just to rule out anything deadly.

(FYI, years ago I had awful right neck pain, but that pretty much disappeared a few years ago as well.)

NECK MRI RESULTS

Got the MRI and received a note from my doctor that says, "...some disc protrusion noted with Left sided foraminal stenosis. Recommend f/u with a neurosurgeon for further evaluation." But she didn't mention any of the other findings.

Here's the results:

FINDINGS: Cervical lordosis is maintained. No bone marrow edema or marrow placing lesion. No
precervical soft tissue swelling. The cervical cord is normal in size and signal. Facets are in
good alignment. The atlantodental interval is normal. The foramen magnum is widely patent.

C2-C3, C3-C4: No stenosis.

C4-C5: Moderate to severe loss of disc height with a small posterior disc protrusion with mild
to moderate central canal stenosis. Uncovertebral joint spurring worse on the right with severe
right and mild left foraminal stenosis.

C5-C6: Moderate to severe loss of disc height. Posterior and leftward disc protrusion with
stenosis through the left lateral recess and severe left foraminal stenosis.

C6-C7: Moderate to severe loss of disc height. Small posterior disc protrusion with mild to
moderate central canal stenosis but foramina are patent.

C7-T1: No stenosis.

IMPRESSION: Spondylosis most pronounced through the mid cervical spine.

YOUR THOUGHTS?

What's really odd is that it also says, "severe right and mild left foraminal stenosis. But doc never mentioned that.

So if you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

You're leaving out the most important part--the piece that's needed here. What's going on with stressors in your life? Is anything just wrong/unfair and drivin' you crazy? Anything that you feel like you've got to stuff for the short-term to get by? What is happening that could be triggering that old old stuff, that you thought went quietly away? Have you taken the ACEs questionnaire?

We just got the physical side. And, the MRI results--you know that there are no doctors or medical advice provided here. We're not able to interpret medical reports.
