Day 15 Symptom merry go round

I've said this before in my posts here but one of my biggest frustrations is that my symptoms don't move. They aren't in my right back and side one day and then my left leg another. They were in my right back/side, and then ALSO in my left leg (upper), and then ALSO in both shins, and then ALSO in my left midback. I would love the jumping around to solidify TMS for me a bit but instead more and more things just keep piling on with no change in the previous symptoms.

Why do you think your TMS brain will give you the manifestation you think you need, in order to believe it's TMS?

I think you have missed the main message, which is that the TMS brain mechanism is extremely skilled at creating exactly what YOU uniquely need in order to continue to spin your wheels in fear. Just because your manifestation is less typical doesn't mean anything - it's always going to be less typical for those who are more resistant.

I'm sorry, @Rusty Red, but as far as I can tell, your TMS brain has got you well under its thumb, right where it wants you.

The TMS brain will always extend the goal posts

it’s a common thing I see in YouTube comments in TMS content, “if I just didn’t have x symptom I could manage the rest.” Or “you’re lucky you only have x, I have y and I bet having x is easier.”

I deal with this idea while struggling with symptom imperative. Always wishing for the old symptom back. Because in my case when they cycle out, one tends to slowly dimmer and one tends to slowly increase, so my short term TMS brain longs for the dimmed sensation that at one point tormented me.

In your case the lack of movement of the symptom is not the issue, it’s the fear. I’d hazard a guess that once the fear really lessens you’ll start to see some movement.

As Jan says, it’s got you, why would it move around when it’s working just fine as it is. FWIW prior to being TMS aware and just slightly after my pain was located to specific areas, eventually it started to move.

Have you made an evidence list? What other evidence is there that jumps out to you as being TMS?

Pain moving around is not the only indicator & also doesn't necessarily have to be one.

The fact that you have pain in multiple areas jumps out as being TMS because what did you do to warrant pain in so many different areas. I mean did you hurt yourself? And even if you did, don't you think that you should have healed by now.

Having doubts is normal & understandable. However it's keeping you right where you are now. Maybe do some journaling on aspects of your belief around TMS & see what comes up.

    Here's a useful link

    Good Luck

Mine didn't either... I used to have constantly present tailbone pain and pudendal neuralgia-like symptoms. (And they eventually went away.)

Yes I have. I try to go back to it but things have been rough lately.
