North Star
Beloved Grand Eagle
We were going to be driving out of town a few hours to look at a vehicle...it looked like the perfect fit for our family and the price was right. We were going with cash. But we couldn't do it until this afternoon.
The seller calls late last night. Someone else is coming first thing in the morning with cash to buy it. Being two hours away, we just can't over there fast enough. The seller gave a mealy-mouth apology.
I am so disappointed over this...the fellow knew were were serious; we talked a few times.
What makes this harder is realizing the old self-pity/victim tape is playing again, "Nice guys finish last...you need to be aggressive...things never work out for us....blah, blah, blah." This sure didn't help my on-going toe to toe confrontation with my TMS insomnia. (I've been weaning myself off sleep aids that I have used for the past 20 years.)
A friend helpfully (NOT) said, "something better is out there." Not very helpful especially because where we live, a very rural area, decent vehicles at a good price are few and far between. (Unless you drive a few hours!)
And when that happens, someone will swoop in, buy it and then jack up the price for resale.
Then there's an issue with a sibling. And then I got ticked over that too - I am the sort of person who will apologize when someone steps on my foot.
Thanks for listening. I've already done my journaling (day 33!), and am going to work up a good sweat with some happy music this morning to kick off my day. But dang...I am still so disappointed.
