Thoughts Day 3: the Id is persistent in its opposition to the ego & super ego...like a kid throwing a tantrum...the rational and mature parent gives in enough times and the behavior pattern is set...then it becomes more difficult to 'retrain' the child/id....but it can be done...not without pain!
The TMS 'brat' is pretty clever...strike areas that reduce or eliminate physical activity that is so hugely beneficial and necessary...that makes it even harder to counter and deal with whatever is being repressed
It is also adaptive...my TMS brat is pushing me away from cycling...I run and then another area (knee) hurts....so you have to battle on a new and/or additional site...
...so today I ran, pelvis fine, knee hurt so for 20 minutes I just kept saying (silently) F*@# you or no F*@#ing way. Sorry if it's offensive but I works! I understand why Dr. Sarno encourages and recommends maintains activity...these perspectives aren't likely new to anyone but writing things down helps me a lot. Keep battling
