Severe nerve pain in scalp and possibly autoimmune, not likely TMS

Hi I have joined this forum probably 5 weeks ago when I thoughy it was clear I had TMS.

However a specialist I went to has ordered cranial ultrasound and biopsies believing my nerve pain is too extensive, widespread and that it is due to an autoimmune disease with also possibly neuropathy.

I recall reading tbat autoimmune diseases may not be TMS or be due to TMS...has anyone had severe neuropathy and/or autoimmune disease and realized TMS is not the cause? I feel like everything is always caused by TMS and I am strating to think that some medically complex conditions may not be.

Also I cannot say what my TMS doc said "I am healthy and structurally nothing is wrong with me." Becauze it's not true.

My best advice is to let the doctors investigate and suggest their treatments and that once this is done you give yourself time to reflect and consider what works best for you. It is not a stark choice between TMS and allopathic medicine. There is a soft sweet middle ground.

Thank you very much for your much needed feedback and reminder that I need not feel like I have to.choose holistic over allopathic at this juncture of my medical workup. It's all overwhelming. I will be happy once I know for sure what I am dealing with. Thw physical pain symptoms limit me so I am looking into meditation and imagery and prayer even though religion doesn't seem to have a place in TMS therapy. I also appreciate there is no one way to do TMS therapy...I like having different tools and exercises. Thanks so much again!

Religion has a place in healing and many people here are of strong faith or have renewed or discovered their relationship with the divine. A great many routinely employ imagery and creative visualisation, meditation and mindfulness are commonly discussed and suggested.

Prayer is more private but you can be sure prayers are softly spoken each day and each night by the gentle souls of this oasis.

Just read your post. I have severe nerve pain and started tms a few weeks ago. What is happening with you?
