Recurrent TMS; restarting my journey

In short, I've dealt with what I now know as TMS my entire life (asthma, eczema, pain etc).

About 6 months ago, I had low back pain with left leg sciatica overtake my life. I found Sarno's book, and within about 1 month it basically vanished.

However, I took my foot off the gas and stopped working on the program. It then returned about 1 month ago with slightly different symptoms.

I've been having trouble this time around, mostly because the symptoms are somewhat different. It is still my left leg, but the quality is more of claudication-type symptoms: tightness, squeezing, aching, and even numbness in the S1 nerve root in my calf and numbness in my left foot.

My symptoms have improved over the month - though slowly. I guess I'm growing impatient as I'm obsessed with making them go away. And my clever brain chose a different quality of pain, with the foot numbness, to make me think this is something else - which alarmed me at first - but I'm getting better at accepting it.

Has anyone else dealt with reoccurrences, or similar symptoms such as this? I think the numbness in my foot and calf for about a month is what frightened me most, and has been the issue behind me not accepting the diagnosis as easily as I had before.

    Thanks for your time!
