I have healed previously from tms when it came to low back pain. Mri shows bulging discs etc. i know its irrelevant. my latest current relapse has been really bad and seems to be getting worse. I have tried everything and tried not to try everything as well. It doesnt seem like it wants to let up. Im very scared while trying not to be scared. In trying not to monitor my pain but it is damn near impossible when any movement is excruciatingly painful. Ive been reading tms material. Not reading tms material. Doing everything and also trying to let go all at the same time and it just seems like it wont give up. I am in the middle of selling my home and moving. I am aware of all the possible things that can be triggers andi try to think psychologically but this one is really hard for me. Im kind of lost and dont know what to do. Its so discouraging when you go to sleep feeling positive about an outcome and wake up the next morning in so much pain.

I’m so sorry! You’re in the thick of it. Your false assumption is that this will go away fast if you do everything right. Sometimes it doesn’t. Usually it doesn’t. So don’t get discouraged. It’s hard and scary, but you have to stand up to it. Check out this thought I found this morning. It gave me hope, as I’m in your same boat. https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threads/how-to-look-at-a-setback.33018/

When people are feeling discouraged and stuck I always recommend the same thing. Pick a structured daily program (like the free SEP on this site or there are others) and just do the lesson and activity every day for about an hour or so. Then go about living your life the rest of the day to the best of your ability. Let the teachings and the exercises percolate in your unconscious. You will eventually get unstuck. There is no other way that I'm aware of.

There's an emotional conflict underneath every flare. Use the SEP, as @Ellen suggests. It never hurts to revisit Dr Sarnos essential lessons even if we think we know them, but you need to take the writing exercises seriously, because if you do them with honesty and emotional vulnerability, they will help you find the repressed conflict.
