As I came into this program I wondered if my extreme hip and leg pain (of about 5 years) could actually be TMS and not due to the medical dx of severe osteoarthritis. I'd say I'm 98% positive it is TMS but there is a small part of me (my fear/anxiety part) that is still desperately holding onto the medical diagnosis of arthritis and is afraid to take that leap of faith. I'm confident I'll come around, though, because as with most things in life, my "M.O." is to wade in slowly. One thing that's helping me fully believe my hip issue is TMS is that through this program I'm realizing I've had all sorts of other TMS issues over the years going all the way back to childhood. It is really amazing! I'm floored and am looking forward to journaling about those things and reframing them. But right now, my goal is my hip because the pain has really compromised my day-to-day activities and enjoyment of life.

Over these past two weeks or so, I'd say I've noticed about 60% improvement in my pain. When the pain does rear up, I'm getting much more adept at pinpointing the emotion and person/place/thing that's triggering it. Sometimes I'm able to self-talk or journal it away. Sometimes not. When the pain lingers, I'm working hard at not being afraid of it, and just letting it be, noticing it, but carrying on as best I can. This is hard to do!!

I can't tell you how grateful I am to have found this program, and for all the support and encouragement I've received from the community. It means so much :)
